THE main island in the Kingdom of Tonga is called Tongatapu. On its northern coastline is the Tongan capital of Nuku'alofa. The Fua'amotu International Airport is located a short distance by road into the capital. Domestic flights are available to access other islands in Tonga.

There are a number of guesthouses, apartments and other accommodation in and around Nuku'alofa. Surfing resorts and beach houses for relaxing holidays are found on the lovely west facing beaches of the island. Nearby smaller islands also have beach vacation resorts.
